Location

Only 2km north of Aggsbach-Villageor, between Spritz and Melk, on the eastern banks of the Danube River, 320m above the river on the crest of a steep hill, lies Austria’s most well known castle ruin. One can reach the ruin directly by car (the parking space is in walking distance , 200m, away from the castle) or by taking a most pleasurable 30min walk up to the castle. A large parking bay especially for buses is situated just below the castle.
